In 2004, Noor Rahman was asked to create a prototype of an online document management system for the microbiology department of the McGill University Health Center. He delivered a working prototype following an intensive iterative development process with input from various users. Users who worked with the prototype on a regular basis provided very positive feedback. The system was subsequently demonstrated at several conferences to gauge the need elsewhere. The response was evident.
In 2006, LBXweb version 2 was released and LBXweb Inc. was founded. Since then, the system had been deployed in 25 hospitals across Quebec. The company has now produced four more systems for the hospital sector - all in use in various departments and regions.
